The Muslim World League condemns the Israeli occupation government's approval of a plan to build new settlements in the West Bank and around occupied Jerusalem.

Makkah (UNA) – The Muslim World League strongly condemned the Israeli occupation government’s approval of a plan to build new settlements in the West Bank and the vicinity of occupied Jerusalem, and the accompanying extremist statements by the occupation government’s foreign minister to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state. The occupation government thus continues its provocations, its disdain for international legitimacy, and its deliberate attempt to undermine all opportunities to stop the war and establish peace.

In a statement issued by the League's General Secretariat, His Excellency the Secretary General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, denounced the Israeli occupation government's persistent policy of disregarding the lives and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and violating all international and humanitarian values, laws, and norms in the occupied territories. This has made this extremist government, with its criminal behavior, a serious threat to the region and the international community, and represents the greatest obstacle to the just and comprehensive peace that everyone seeks.

His Eminence reiterated the justness of the Palestinian cause and the historical and legal right of the Palestinian people to their land, calling on the international community to take a sincere and serious stand to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities to end this humanitarian tragedy that the Palestinian people are experiencing and to support their legitimate right to self-determination and the establishment of their state.
