The flag of the Comoros consists of four horizontal bands of yellow, white, red and blue, symbolizing the four main islands (Grande Comore, Mohéli, Anjouan and Mayotte). The flag also features a green triangle on the left side, inside which is a white crescent and four white stars. The green triangle symbolizes Islam as the main religion of the country, while the crescent and stars represent unity and brotherhood among the islands. The flag was designed to reflect the national, religious and cultural identity of the Comoros.

| Moroni is the capital and largest city in Ngazigia. With an area of 2.235 square kilometers (863 sq mi), it is one of the smallest countries in the world. Comoros has 320 square kilometers (124 square miles) of territorial waters.
